The Travelling Film Festival (TFF) treats Wollongong to the best in world cinema at Greater Union Cinemas from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 May.
The TFF has 8 feature films and 4 short films, taking local audiences on a cinematic journey around the world, showcasing films from Australia, Germany, Norway, UK, France, India, Portugal and New Zealand. The TFF 2013 program includes pre-release titles and international Sydney Film Festival (SFF) selections – be the first to see these exclusive titles at TFF Wollongong.
Our always-popular Opening Night celebration includes free drinks after the screening, of Amour, by master Austrian director Michael Haneke (The White Ribbon, The Piano Teacher). Haneke won his second Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival with this universally acclaimed drama. Amour has since swept the European Film Awards, taken home a Golden Globe and won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film and a BAFTA in the Best Actress category for Emmanuelle Riva, making it one of the most talked about and anticipated films of the year.
TFF is also proud to present special pre-release family screenings of the boisterous French 3D animation A Monster in Paris –nominated for Best Animation and Best Score at the César Awards. Set in old time Paris this is the story of an unlikely hero, a mad professor, friendship, true love and setting things right - fun for the child inside or the child beside you!

Valley of Saints – EXCLUSIVE TFF TITLE
Set on Dal Lake in strife-torn Kashmir, this film tells an unlikely story of love between a working-class boatman and a beautiful scientist, while raising important environmental issues.

Barbara - Berlinale-winning dramatic thriller starring Nina Hoss as an East German doctor who is exiled to a 1980s GDR backwater and subject to constant monitoring, she focuses on her future and freedom.

Kon-tiki - This 2013 Oscar nominated film dramatises the epic journey of legendary Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdal in 1974. With a crew of five men, Thor sets out to cross 4,300 miles of the Pacific on a balsa wood raft to test his widely criticised theory.
Rust and Bone – Directed by Jacques Audiard (The Prophet) this multi-award winning film is an eloquent and raw love story that sees Matthias Schoenaerts (Bullhead) and Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) as two damaged souls in Antibes who form an unlikely bond.
Tabu – PRE-RELEASE TITLE
Tabu is an utterly beguiling love story that moves between contemporary Portugal and colonial Africa, transporting us into the past, immersing us in a tale of love and crime straight from the world of adventure films.
